Vitamin B12 benefits
1 people found this helpful
This was purchased for my husband, who had laser eye surgery long ago and is now experiencing some side effects. The doctor recommended he supplement with B12, which I also found beneficial. A deficiency in vitamin B12 can lead to symptoms like dizziness caused by anaemia, as well as cognitive decline, poor memory, and irritability. I realised that elderly individuals with poor memory may not necessarily have dementia but could be suffering from a B12 shortfall.

Homocysteine levels improved

Monitoring homocysteine levels is crucial, as they can indicate deficiencies in vitamins B12, B6, or B9 (folate). Low vitamin levels can lead to increased homocysteine, raising the risk of heart attacks, stroke, depression, dementia, and osteoporosis. I take it sublingually at night, and I’ve seen an improvement—my homocysteine dropped from 10.6 to 8.1, while ferritin levels increased from 16 to 60.

Alzheimer's prevention
I hope this helps. Vitamin B12 is vital for various hormonal and metabolic processes in the body. It helps eliminate excess homocysteine and protects blood vessels, thereby preventing cardiovascular diseases, Alzheimer's disease, and dementia. Observing my mother, I believe it might have slightly slowed her dementia's progression.
